SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS JULY 14
The call for Speakers for WordCamp NYC 2019 is open. WordCamp NYC will take place at Convene, 117 West 46th Street, Saturday, September 14 & Sunday, September 15. Anyone who wants to share their knowledge of WordPress content, design, or development with the community; this is your opportunity to be heard, apply online today.
Hurry there are only a few days left, submissions close July 14.
Speaker submissions have been open for a few weeks. We have received a number of applications for technical talks. We are welcoming submissions for talks on all subjects related to WordPress aimed at users of all levels, but we are particularly interested in talks for WordPress beginners and a couple important technical subjects we do not have applications for, examples of these talks are listed below.
Examples of this kind of talk include:
- Gutenberg basics
- Plugins for any web site
- Making sense of SEO, the basics
- Which Page Builder should I use?
Technical talks on subjects such as:
- Getting started with SVG
- Speed up your development process with WP-CLI
The most important requirement for a WordCamp speaker is a deep knowledge and passion for the topic you are presenting; there are no other perquisites. Previous speaking experience is not a requirement; neither is speaking at a previous WordPress meetup or WordCamp.
A committee will evaluate all applications, and all speakers will be notified of their acceptance no later than July 30th. The details of your talk and your biography will be published on the WordCamp NYC 2019 shortly after that.
As always WordCamp speakers are entitled to free admission to the event and will be invited to a speakers only event the evening of Friday, September 13. We are sorry, but we cannot help with travel or lodging expenses. All speakers must agree to observe the Agreement for WordCamp Speakers, Organizers, Volunteers, and Sponsors. All talks will be recorded for WordPress.TV so all speakers must read and sign the A/V Release Form.
