Mervin is a project planning geek and developer who’s been involved with the local WordPress community since 2014. He’s a frequent helper at the Manhattan and Brooklyn HelpDesk meetups, and is leading the organizing team for WordCamp 2019.

Karen Jeanne Radley

Karen Jeanne Radley, communications wrangler, is head of KJRWebmasters designing websites and Social Media strategy for small business and non-profit organizations. Karen has over 19 years experience in media and technology, working in a wide variety of industries including publishing, fitness, and beauty, and is a frequent guest lecturer at NYU and other institutions on building brands using websites and Social Media. A longstanding member of the WordPress community she is honored to be part WordCamp NYC organizational committee for the second year in a row.

Eileen Smyth

Eileen Smyth is a member of our Social Media Wrangler Team, and is a Drupal defector. Volunteering for the NYC Word Camp is her entrée to the WordPress community.

David Rosenberg

David Rosenberg is this year’s design wrangler. He has years of experience working as a Graphic Designer designing both for print and for the web. His clients include large corporations as well as small businesses. Of course, for Web Design, his primary tool is WordPress. Therefore, he is excited about this opportunity to give back to the WordPress community by being an organizer for this year’s event. Finally, David runs his own graphic/web design firm davidrosenberggraphicdesign.com in NYC.

Casey James Perno

Casey is a member of our Development Team with six years experience in building responsive websites. He spent three years at a marketing agency outside DC with a focus on building highly customized WordPress sites, where he published his two WordPress plugins: Casper’s Flyin’ CTA and Casper’s Leave Notice. Now he works outside NYC for the largest party rental provider on the east coast as the front end developer for a custom eCommerce application. Casey is happy to be joining the WordCamp NYC team again in order to give back to the community that has given so much to him throughout his career.

Bud Kraus

Bud has taught web design and WordPress for over 20 years in New York City and in online classrooms. He is the creator of two free WordPress courses. He works with small businesses and their sites too. When he’s not chained to a computer, he’s playing guitar and working in his garden but not usually at the same time. Bud is our Speaker Wrangler.

Avis Boone

Avis Boone is the co-lead for this year’s WordCamp NYC.  She joined the organizing team in 2018, and volunteered in 2016 and 2017.  Avis builds WordPress websites and is very active in the NYC WordPress Meetup community. Avis is a professional actress and event photographer and dances Argentine tango. She is very involved in various women organizations that advocate for women in the entertainment industry.  She is a member SAG-AFTRA and serves as Co-President of Women in the Arts and Media Coalition, and is a member of New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT).
