Yet another video related update. We have handed all of the videos off to the WordPress.tv team for evaluation. We will post an announcement here and all social channels as soon as videos are released for public consumption.
Thanks to everyone waiting so patiently for this to be done.
The team and I are still reviewing the videos. We have sent the first 5 back to the videographers to recompress and hopefully reduce the size down below the 1G limit of WordPress.tv. Once that has been done we plan on uploading those videos and handing them off to the WPTV team.
Thank you everyone for your patience. I assure you that we will have videos from WCNYC 2014 up ASAP!!!!!
We have received the initial batch of videos from the videographers. The team must begin reviewing these to expedite the upload of videos meeting the standards required for broadcasting on WordPress.tv. Please understand that there are many hours of videos to review and the team of volunteers will process them as fast as we are able to.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up: the videos are off to the production company. When they return them to us we will be passing them onto the foundation for review. Some will be selected for WordPress.tv as well as closed captioning. Thank you for your patience; the editing of these videos is a huge undertaking.
On Sunday, Kathryn Presner & Tammie Lister will be presenting a workshop for those who want to learn more about speaking at a WordCamp.
Here’s the abstract of the workshop:
Have you considered presenting at a WordCamp but thought you didn’t know enough or felt like an imposter? Does the idea of speaking in front of a group set your knees quivering and your heart racing? During this hands-on session we’ll look at what’s stopped you from speaking in the past – and explore how to move past your fears.
We’ll delve into practical techniques for choosing a topic, writing a proposal, crafting presentation content, and making great slides. We’ll discuss how to avoid common public-speaking mistakes and techniques for battling stage fright. We’ll help you navigate the dreaded post-presentation Q&A session and gather post-talk feedback. Each participant will come out of the workshop with a WordCamp or meetup talk proposal – and more confidence to submit it.
This workshop is limited to just 30 attendees, so if you want to attend, be sure to sign up using this form!
On Saturday, August 2nd, in addition to the main tracks, WordCamp NYC will be offering beginner workshops. If you’re just starting out with WordPress (or don’t know where to start), these workshops are for you. There are two workshops on Saturday, each divided into two sections:
August 2-3, 2014 at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge
