We’ve been receiving emails, tweets and phone calls asking when tickets are going to go on sale, so thought this might be a good time to provide an update on the status of WCNYC:<\/p>\n
Sponsorship applications opened less than a month ago and support from the WordPress community has been amazing. We will stop taking sponsorship applications on April 30, so if you want to support WCNYC now is the time<\/a>.<\/p>\n The call for speakers went out less than three weeks ago and we have received an influx of applications… but we’re still looking for more! Please don’t wait until the last-minute to submit your application, do it now<\/a>. We are closing speaker applications on April 30 at midnight, so we can finalize the schedule the first week in May. We will be notifying accepted speakers shortly thereafter, so you will have at least four weeks to prepare your presentation.<\/p>\n We will be opening volunteer registration soon. The immediate goal is to get a list of individuals who want to help us run WordCamp. An in-person meeting will then be scheduled where we will discuss actual shifts. You will be entitled to a free ticket if you volunteer at least four hours.<\/p>\n Tickets will go on sale the first week of May!
