WordPress.com Beginner Workshop is full

Just a quick update to let you know the WordPress.com Beginner Workshop is full, and we can’t take any more registrations for it.  If you’ve been trying to use the promo code and getting an error message, this is why.

If you are unable to attend the WordPress.com Beginner workshop on Sunday, there is still plenty of content for beginners. We have an entire track on Saturday for beginners called WP101, and the Happiness Bar, where WordPress experts will be available to help you with your questions, will be available all day on both days.

Sunday Schedule

WordCamp NYC is less than two weeks away and we are excited to bring the WordPress community together. Saturday is jammed packed with sessions and Sunday planning has really evolved to water everyone’s appetite some more!

We know it’s hard to decide which workshop to attend and which to forgo. For this purpose we have dedicated three rooms, with a total of 12 sessions, that will be repeated on Sunday. Repeated sessions will be determined by the room overflow on Saturday, so if you can’t make a session on Saturday, it may be presented on Sunday as well.  These sessions will be finalized Saturday afternoon.

We also have additional, and more hands-on involvement tracks:

  • WordPress.com will provide a beginners workshop that will run through the day, from 10:30am to 5:00pm – details will be emailed to ticket holders only! You must RSVP in advance for this workshop, so buy your tickets now to get the sign up information.
  • We will have two rooms, or eight sessions, for Unconference workshops. A  submission form will be posted on Friday June 8th will be available for you to submit your idea. Submissions must be in by Saturday at noon. Your submission ideas will be aggregated to create sessions that we will post on the website. Attendees will then be able to vote on and determine which presentations will be part of the Unconference series!
  • More developer sessions!
  • There will be a room for designers and developers to hack WordPress core, plugins and themes.
  • One room will be for the Happiness Bar to help you with your WordPress questions.
  • And we’ll have one room for those who made the most of the after-party! (i.e.: Hangover room)

We’re also working on a few other things, so stay tuned! Get your tickets today!

Presentation Topics Are Posted

A sincere “Thank You!” to everyone who submitted an application to speak at WordCamp NYC. We were truly overcome to see the response from the community – nearly 120 submissions in total! It was a challenge to choose from them, as we tried to balance a full menu of WordPress noodling with adequate air and space for all that happens in between the sessions, unplanned.

From that strong submission list we have curated an action-packed Saturday of close to 15 tracks (some are “mini-tracks” – more on that later), consisting of almost 80 individual sessions. And that is only on Saturday!

There is something for everyone in this diverse group, with presentations geared toward bloggers and developers, sysadmins and SEO-heads, designers and do-it-yourselfers, server-side ninjas and CEOs, teachers and web creatures…. basically all the great people who live and love WordPress.

If you have been waiting to see what we’d serve up before you grabbed a ticket, wait no longer my friend. Sign up for the show today, because this is a group of sessions that aims to inform. All in one place for one weekend only: WordCamp New York City!

Check out the full list of sessions.
