You may have heard these dates bounced around on twitter, but here is the official announcement: WordCamp NYC 2010 will be held October 16-17 at Baruch College. We are very happy to be returning to last year’s venue, and are starting to work on the plan for the event. One of the main issues reported by attendees last year was that they felt it was difficult to choose sessions because there were so many good things going on at the same time. Now, let’s face it, that’s a great problem for a conference to have, but we do want to make it more relaxed than last year, and have a greater emphasis on local attendees. Coincidentally, BlogWorldExpo is the same weekend in Las Vegas, which means a lot of people who might have flown in to attend will not be there. There’s also an Open Source conference in PA that weekend. We see this as a positive, because it forces us to look more closely at local WordPress practitioners who have something to share, rather than automatically defaulting to the names that pop up on the WordCamp circuit all the time. Our goal is to have a mix. So! What next?<\/p>\n
